The wind carries the earth to become the terra.
The wind brings people’s messages to beget civilization.
The wind moves with plants, clouds, and water; we feel the wind’s kinetic energy through our skin, ears, and five senses.
The wind is the messenger sent by Nature, carrying soil and earth: “fudo” (風土, literally “wind earth”) refers to tradition and fashion from harmonious dwelling and working to develop our culture.
Changing clouds in the sky, rolling waves in the ocean, and swaying plants on the earth, the transfiguration can therefore be recognized from concepts such as “fudo” (風土), “fuzoku” (風俗), “fukei” (風景), and “fukaku” (風格), bonding together the past and the future of history.
Through dialoging with the wind, the form of this work inspires people’s perception of nature and culture. The work is situated precisely at the location of the former Taipei Municipal Zhongxing Elementary School. Spectators can contemplate time’s visage through the wind in the natural and urban environment. The orchestration of art and wind connects the pleasant atmosphere of teachers and students from the past to the warm greetings of future residents, telling the tales of nature and life.
